Class Features

Defense Bonuses
At 1st level, Goliath Operators gain a +4 class bonus to their Reflex Defense and a +2 class bonus to their Fortitude Defense.

Talents
At every odd-numbered level, Goliath Operators select a talent. This talent may be selected from the Expert Pilot (Core p.207) , Spacer Talent Tree (Core p.47), or Goliath Operator Tree (below). The Goliath Operator must meet the prerequisites (if any) of the chosen talent. No talent can be taken more than once unless explicitly indicated.

Goliath Operator Tree

A rare talent tree developed by Goliath operators, this Talent tree represents the epitome of skill that a Goliath Operator can develop.

Never Back Down: You and your Goliath are an unstoppable force, capable of getting back up when most Operators would have to admit defeat. Once per encounter, you can make a DC 20 Mechanics check as a swift action on your Goliath while operating. The Goliath receives the benefits of a modified successful Jury Rig: It moves +2 Steps on the Condition Track and recovers ([Your Character Level + Goliath’s Memory Core Character Level] x 2) Hit Points. The Goliath moves -3 Steps down the Condition Track at the end of the encounter.
Prerequisites: Trained in Pilot

Recalculated Effort: Your character has developed an instinctual level of trust with your Goliath, an almost sixth sense that allows the Goliath to come through in crucial moments and give trusted advice. Once per encounter, re-roll any Skill check with a +2 circumstantial bonus while operating a Goliath or consulting with a Goliath Memory Core.
Prerequisites: Trained in Pilot

Static Broadcast: You’ve upgraded your Goliath to emit scrambling communications to other Goliaths that interfered with their ability to combat you. You can activate this Talent as a Standard Action. Any Goliath within Close Range takes a -2 penalty on opposed Skill checks and attack rolls against you for the encounter. You can spend a Force Point to increase this ability to medium range.
Prerequisites: Trained in Pilot and Use Computer

Synchronity: Your character has a strong level of connection with your Goliath’s Memory Core. As a swift action, you can spend a Force Point to gain a +1 Morale bonus on attack rolls and a +2 Morale bonus on one skill check of your choice.
Prerequisites: Trained in Pilot

Goliath Sync

Beginning at 2nd level, your character gains a competence bonus to all skill checks performed on and while piloting a Goliath you are sync’d with. This bonus is equal to one half of your class level, rounded down.
